These policies apply to all tickets purchased on or after the effective date above.

1. Purchase Terms & Cancellation Policy
Tinny Rally is an expedition-style event conducted in dynamic natural environments. Participation involves inherent variability including weather, river conditions, fire directives, access permissions, regulatory requirements, and operational factors.
By purchasing a ticket, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
1.1 Cooling-Off Period
A full refund (less payment processor fees) is available within 7 days of purchase.
After the 7-day cooling-off period, tickets are non-refundable except as expressly outlined below.
1.2 Participant Cancellation (More Than 6 Months Before Event)
If you withdraw more than 6 months prior to the published event start date, you may request:

A refund of the ticket price, less:
-
Payment processor fees, and
-
A reasonable administration fee.
-
Refunds are calculated from the original ticket value, not instalments paid.
1.3 Participant Cancellation (6 Months or Less Before Event)
If you choose not to attend within 6 months of the event start date, no refund will be provided for any reason, including but not limited to:

Personal circumstances
-
Medical issues
-
Mechanical or equipment failure
-
Travel disruption
-
Change of availability
You may either:
-
Transfer your ticket in accordance with Section 1.8, or
-
Forfeit your ticket
Participants are responsible for arranging their own insurance to cover personal contingencies.
1.4 Event Changes
The organiser may adjust the event as required, including but not limited to:
-
Route
-
Schedule
-
Start or finish locations
-
Daily distances
-
Overnight locations
Such changes may occur due to weather, river conditions, safety considerations, bushfire directives, government or authority requirements, access constraints, or logistical factors.
Route or schedule changes do not entitle participants to refunds, credits, or compensation.
Changes may also be made where required for safety management, including directions issued by the organiser in response to environmental, operational, or participant risk conditions.
Participants acknowledge that safety-based decisions are final and may be made at short notice.
1.5 Postponement Due to Force Majeure
If the event is postponed due to circumstances beyond the organiser’s reasonable control, including but not limited to:

Bushfire
-
Flood
-
River closure
-
Extreme weather events
-
Biosecurity restrictions
-
Government directives or orders
-
Safety or navigation authority instructions
-
Withdrawal, suspension, or refusal of required insurance
-
Withdrawal of land access, permits, approvals, or camping permissions
-
Any regulatory or authority decision impacting event viability
Tickets will automatically transfer to the rescheduled date.
If you are unable to attend the rescheduled date:
-
A credit equal to the original ticket value will be issued
-
Credit is valid for 12 months from the original event date
-
Credit is non-refundable and not redeemable for cash
-
Credit may be applied to a future Tinny Rally event (subject to availability)
1.6 Cancellation Prior to Event Commencement
If the event is cancelled prior to commencement due to force majeure circumstances:

A credit equal to the ticket value will be issued
-
Credits are valid for 12 months
-
Credits are non-refundable and not redeemable for cash
No cash refunds will be provided.
1.7 Early Termination or Shortening of Event
Participants acknowledge that expedition-style events may be shortened, modified, or terminated early due to environmental conditions, safety risks, bushfire directives, river conditions, regulatory requirements, or authority instructions.
If the event is shortened or terminated after commencement:

No refunds or partial refunds will be issued
-
No pro-rata calculations apply
Participation is undertaken with full understanding of this risk.
1.8 Name Change (Same Event Only)
Tickets are issued to a specific participant for a specific Tinny Rally event and are not transferable as of right.
In limited circumstances, and at the sole discretion of the organiser, a ticket transfer may be approved. A transfer is strictly defined as:
“A change of the named participant on an existing ticket for the same event only.”
A transfer does not constitute, and will not be treated as:

A transfer to a different Tinny Rally event
-
A transfer to a different event date or location
-
A deferral, rollover, or swap between events
Transfers may be approved only where all of the following conditions are met:
-
The transfer is between known parties (e.g. friends, existing team members, or direct personal contacts)
-
The transfer does not involve public advertising, resale platforms, social media listings, or discounted offers
-
The transfer remains within the same ticket type (Skipper, Crew, Under-18)
-
No additional boats, entries, or team restructuring is introduced
-
Team allocations and operational planning remain unchanged
If approved:
-
A $100 administration fee applies
-
The transfer request must be submitted no later than 60 days prior to the event start date
-
The replacement participant must meet all eligibility, documentation, and waiver requirements
Transfers are a courtesy, not a contractual right.
The organiser reserves the right to refuse any transfer request without obligation to provide reasons.
No transfers will be permitted within 60 days of the event start date.
1.9 No Event-to-Event Transfers or Swaps
Tinny Rally does not offer ticket swaps, rollovers, or transfers between different events, dates, or locations.
If a participant wishes to attend a different Tinny Rally event, they must:

Request a refund strictly in accordance with the refund policy, and
-
Purchase a new ticket for the desired event (subject to availability)
Where a refund is not available under the applicable refund policy, the ticket cannot be moved, exchanged, deferred, or reassigned to another event.
1.10 No Refunds for Personal Circumstances
Refunds or credits will not be granted for personal circumstances including, but not limited to:

Mechanical failure
-
Boat damage or theft
-
Medical issues
-
Travel disruption
-
Equipment failure
-
Personal emergencies
Participants are strongly advised to obtain appropriate travel and event insurance.
1.11 Payment Processor Fees
Where refunds are permitted under this policy, payment processor fees are non-refundable.
1.12 Acknowledgement of Expedition Risk
Tinny Rally is not a packaged tour or guaranteed itinerary product. It is an expedition-style event conducted in natural and changing environments.
Participants accept that environmental and operational variability is inherent to the experience and does not constitute failure to deliver the event.
2. Conditions of Entry
Participation in the Tinny Rally (“Event”) is conditional upon strict compliance with the following requirements.
Failure to meet or maintain these conditions may result in refusal to launch, removal from the Event, or exclusion from future events without refund.
2.1 Vessel Eligibility
Each participating vessel must:

Be a single-hull (monohull) aluminium or polycraft vessel
-
Not exceed 5 metres in length
-
Not exceed 60 horsepower
-
Be legally registered and compliant with applicable marine laws
-
Not exceed manufacturer or legal load limits
-
Have an engine appropriately rated for the hull
-
Be capable of maintaining a minimum cruising speed of approximately 30km/h when fully loaded
Fibreglass vessels, catamarans, or non-compliant hull types are not permitted.
No exemptions will be granted.
2.2 Licensing & Insurance
Each skipper must:
-
Hold a valid marine licence where legally required
-
Operate a legally compliant vessel
-
Maintain current third-party boat insurance with an Australian authorised insurer
Proof of licence and insurance must be uploaded prior to participation.
Failure to provide satisfactory evidence may result in refusal to launch.
2.3 Mandatory Equipment
Each vessel must carry:
-
An independent satellite emergency communication device (EPIRB, PLB or equivalent)
-
A mobile phone operating on the Telstra network
-
Required navigation software (including water navigation mapping and land-based access mapping)
-
A compliant chemical camping toilet with holding tank
-
A first aid kit
-
All legally required marine safety equipment
-
Adequate fuel, food, water, and charging capacity for daily travel
Participants are responsible for ensuring all equipment remains functional throughout the Event.
2.4 Tracking, Check-In & Monitoring Requirements
Participants must:
-
Install and operate the nominated GPS tracking system during all official travel hours
-
Maintain sufficient battery capacity and functionality for continuous tracking
-
Remain within the designated daily travel corridor
-
Maintain an active and contactable mobile phone where coverage allows
-
Join and monitor the nominated communication platform (e.g. WhatsApp)
The organiser will monitor participant progress periodically during travel hours.
If a participant:
-
Stops moving for an extended period
-
Deviates significantly from the designated corridor
-
Loses tracking signal for a prolonged period
The organiser may attempt contact and/or initiate a welfare check.
Participants must respond to reasonable contact attempts where practicable.
Failure to maintain tracking, remain contactable, or respond to contact attempts may result in:

Removal from the Event
-
Restrictions on continued participation
Participants acknowledge that monitoring is periodic and subject to system limitations, device performance, and coverage availability.
2.5 Screening & Induction
All participants must:
-
Complete the online induction (100% pass requirement)
-
Watch required safety briefing materials
-
Complete all required forms
-
Execute the Participation Waiver
-
Where applicable, execute the Skipper Agreement
-
Complete the required medical questionnaire prior to participation
All vessels must be presented for equipment screening at the designated start location.
Screening verifies the presence of required equipment only and does not constitute mechanical inspection or seaworthiness certification.
2.6 Operational Conduct
Participants must:
-
Travel within designated daily river corridors
-
Travel only during permitted daily travel hours
-
Arrive at overnight zones during daylight hours unless otherwise directed
-
Check in at designated overnight locations or checkpoints where required
-
Camp only in lawful and permitted locations
-
Operate vessels safely and responsibly at all times
-
Comply with marine alcohol limits
Participants may travel socially with others but remain independently responsible for navigation, decision-making, and vessel operation.
Failure to comply with operational requirements may result in removal from the Event.
2.7 Participant Conduct & Group Accountability
Participants must conduct themselves in a manner that is safe, respectful, and consistent with the standards of the Event at all times, including when interacting with other participants, members of the public, landowners, and venue operators.
The following behaviours may result in immediate removal from the Event:
- Operating a vessel or vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- Dangerous, reckless, or negligent operation of a vessel
- Verbal abuse, harassment, or aggressive behaviour
- Conduct that damages relationships with landowners, venues, or the public
- Any behaviour that may compromise participant safety or the insurability of the Event
Where participants are travelling, camping, or operating as part of a group, convoy, or shared arrangement:
The actions of any individual may result in the removal of the entire group.
Participants are responsible for the conduct of their group and are expected to take reasonable steps to manage and de-escalate unsafe or inappropriate behaviour within their group.
Any participant or group removed from the Event under this clause:
- Will receive no refund, credit, or compensation
- Will no longer receive any Event support, services, or participation benefits
- May be excluded from future Tinny Rally events
Decisions under this clause are made at the reasonable discretion of the organiser, based on available information at the time, and do not require proof to a criminal or civil standard.
2.8 Organiser Authority & Safety Control
The organiser retains authority to monitor conditions and manage the safe operation of the Event.
The organiser may, at its discretion:

Modify or restrict daily travel corridors
-
Delay, suspend, or cancel travel periods
-
Direct participants to remain in place or proceed to designated locations
-
Restrict access to certain areas of the river
-
Enforce operational rules where required for safety
Participants must comply with all reasonable directions issued by the organiser.
Failure to comply may result in removal from the Event without refund.
2.9 Support Vessel & Event Oversight
The Event includes a designated support/sweeper vessel operating during travel periods.
The support vessel may:

Monitor participant progress
-
Provide limited assistance where practicable
-
Act as a coordination point in the event of incidents
Assistance is subject to availability, safety conditions, and location.
The presence of a support vessel does not guarantee response, recovery, or assistance.
2.10 Emergency Response Framework
The organiser maintains an emergency response framework which may include:

Monitoring of participant progress
-
Communication protocols for escalation
-
Coordination with emergency services where required
-
Deployment of support resources where practicable
Participants acknowledge:
-
Response times may vary depending on location, terrain, and conditions
-
Participants remain responsible for initiating emergency services where possible
The organiser may assist in coordinating response where practicable but does not guarantee immediate intervention.
2.11 Accommodation & Camping Responsibility
Tinny Rally does not provide, arrange, or manage accommodation or camping for participants.
Any suggested stopping points, towns, or locations provided by the organiser are for general guidance only and do not constitute booking, reservation, or allocation of accommodation.
Participants are solely responsible for:
– Selecting their own lawful camping or accommodation locations
– Confirming access permissions where required
– Complying with all landowner directions, local regulations, and restrictions
– Ensuring their chosen location is safe and suitable
The organiser does not accept responsibility for any loss, damage, injury, or dispute arising from accommodation or camping arrangements.
2.12 Administrative Deadlines
Participants must submit all required documentation by published deadlines.
Failure to complete required forms or uploads may result in:

Refusal to launch
-
Removal from the Event
-
Loss of merchandise entitlements
-
Loss of access to designated camping arrangements
No refund will be provided where participation is denied due to participant non-compliance.
2.13 Right of Refusal & Removal
Oasis Adventure Co reserves the right to:
-
Refuse launch clearance
-
Remove any vessel deemed unsafe
-
Remove any participant for breach of rules
-
Remove any participant for conduct which may endanger others or compromise the insurability of the Event
Such decisions are made in the interest of participant safety and event viability.
Removal from the Event under this clause does not entitle the participant to refund, credit, or compensation.
3. Event Liability Waiver
This waiver forms a binding contractual agreement between you and Oasis Adventure Co Pty Ltd ABN 64 680 875 183 (Oasis Adventure Co).
This waiver is entered into in consideration for you requesting and being permitted to participate in the Tinny Rally from Mildura to Mannum on the Murray River from 26 October 2024 to 2nd of November 2024 (Event).
Application of Waiver

By ticking the box, you (or if you are a minor, your parent or guardian) acknowledge and agree to the terms of this waiver.

Where this waiver is accepted by parent or guardian on behalf of another individual, that parent or guardian warrants that they have sufficient authority to accept this waiver on that individual’s behalf and agrees to indemnify each Oasis Adventure Co for any loss or damage suffered by Oasis Adventure Co if this waiver is found to be unenforceable against that individual for any reason.
Events

Your participation in the Event involves risk to you and your other property, including the risk of serious injury or death.
-
You acknowledge that participation in the Event may involve inherent hazards and risks, including, but not limited to, lack of phone and internet reception, distance from medical services, behaviour of participants and spectators, varying weather conditions, risks of hyperthermia/hypothermia, physical exhaustion, and appropriateness of participants’ equipment. You understand that these factors may further enhance the risk of participation. By participating in the Event, you assume full responsibility for assessing and managing these risks, including ensuring your own safety and well-being

You do not have a medical condition which might have the effect of making it more likely that you will be involved in an accident or otherwise sustain a serious injury or die.

If you consume alcohol during the event, you acknowledge and agree that you will do so in a responsible manner and if driving, only drive while under the legal blood alcohol limit as failure to do so will impair your ability to participate in any Event safely and may result in significant injury or death to you or others.

You acknowledge and agree that you must not participate in any Event while under the influence of drugs or illicit substances as those substances impair your ability to participate in any Event safely and may result in significant injury or death to you or others.

You acknowledge and agree that any minor participants will be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian at all times during any Event.
Equipment
-
You are responsible for the provision of all of your own equipment required for participation in the event, which includes your own registered boat and boat trailer, safety equipment including life jackets, camping equipment, food and fuel.

You are responsible for ensuring that all of your equipment is secured including while unattended and Oasis Adventure Co will not be liable for any damage to or loss of your equipment.
Exclusion from Event

You agree to adhere to the rules and follow the instructions provided by the Oasis Adventure Co and officials. You acknowledge that your participation may be invalidated based on your actions or conduct. Oasis Adventure Co reserves the right to disqualify any participant from the event, including but not limited to the following reasons:

Being in breach of any of the terms of this Waiver.

Failure to comply with instructions from Oasis Adventure Co.
-
Being deemed unfit by Oasis Adventure Co to participate.
-
Being financially delinquent or owing funds to Oasis Adventure Co.
-
Any other reason deemed appropriate by Oasis Adventure Co (in a reasonable manner).

Weather Conditions
-
You acknowledge and agree that Events take place in most weather conditions and will only be cancelled or rescheduled by Oasis Adventure Co due to extreme weather conditions such as bushfires and floods which require immediate evacuation as directed by the relevant government authority.
Waiver of Risks

You understand and acknowledge that the Event may expose you to risk, including accidents, injury, illness or even death. You assume all risk of injuries associated with participation in the Event, including but not limited to, falls, contact with other participants, contact with wildlife including snakes and insects, equipment failure, risks inherent in camping at remote riverbanks and swimming in rivers and the loss of your personal property, and exclude Oasis Adventure Co from any liability.

The Event may subject you to strenuous physical exercise which may subject you to risk of serious injury or even death. Oasis Adventure Co urges you to obtain a physical examination from a doctor before participating in any Event. You agree that when you engage in the Event, you do so entirely at your own risk.

You agree that if you sustain any injury or illness or begin to feel faint or unwell while at an Oasis Adventure Co facility, you must cease participation in any Event and must immediately call 000 for medical assistance if you suffer a medical emergency or serious injury requiring urgent treatment. Oasis Adventure Co is not responsible for administering any first aid or other medical treatment and is not responsible for contacting emergency services for participants.
Consult with a medical professional

If you are concerned or unsure about your ability to participate in the Event, you should seek professional medical advice.

You warrant and represent that you have no injuries, physical restrictions, disabilities or predispositions to sickness or injury (Conditions) that may affect your participation in the Event or that if you are aware of such Conditions, you participate in any Event provided by Oasis Adventure Co entirely at your own risk. If you believe an Event will not be safe, you must inform us of that fact and not participate in such Event.
Not specific advice

You acknowledge and agree that any information provided about and during the Event including planning guides and suggested routes is strictly general in nature and should not be relied upon as specific advice, including medical advice, under any circumstances and you are responsible for completing your own research and risk assessment as well as seek relevant professional (including medical advice) where required.
Licence and Insurance

You acknowledge and agree that you are required to maintain your own insurance coverage to protect against any risks associated with their participation in the Event. It is the responsibility of each participant to ensure they have adequate insurance coverage to mitigate such risks.

It is a requirement that any participant that will be operating a boat has a current and suitable boat licence.

It is a requirement that each participant provides evidence of insurance (at a minimum 3rd party insurance with a suitable marine insurer) to Oasis Adventure Co prior to participating in any Event.
Media

Oasis Adventure Co may produce photography or videography (Media) featuring you during your participation in the Event. You consent for the Media to be used by or on behalf of Oasis Adventure Co for publication on Oasis Adventure Co’s website, social media accounts, marketing and promotional material, and on any other website or in any media Oasis Adventure Co may select for publication. You assign (including as a present assignment of future copyright) and transfer to Oasis Adventure Co all right, title and interest (including intellectual property rights) in and to the Media, free from any encumbrances or other security interests, including all rights, claims, demands, causes of action, rights of action past, present or future arising out of, or in relation to, the Media. You release Oasis Adventure Co from, and indemnify Oasis Adventure Co against, all claims, actions, demands and liabilities in relation to the creation of Media, which you may have against Oasis Adventure Co.
Indemnity & Release

You exclude Oasis Adventure Co and its officers, employees and contractors, the organisers, sponsors, other participants and any other persons involved in your participation in the Event with Oasis Adventure Co (Releasees) from any demand, claim, or other proceeding in relation to any injury or death or loss or damage to personal property in connection with your participation in the Event with Oasis Adventure Co, whether or not caused by the negligence of a Releasee.

You agree to indemnify each Releasee in relation to any demand, claim or proceeding that may be brought in connection with your participation in the Event with Oasis Adventure Co where circumstances giving rise to such a demand, claim, or proceeding were caused or contributed to by you or your breach of this waiver or any other agreement between you and Oasis Adventure Co.

You agree that should any part of this waiver be found by a court of law to be against public policy, in violation of any state statute or case precedence, or otherwise unenforceable, then only that wording is removed, and the remainder of this waiver will remain in full force.

If you purchased your ticket before 22.2.26, your participation is governed by the previous version available here:
