Here’s what you get that you wouldn’t have if you did this trip on your own outside the Tinny Rally:
– Entry into the rally and meeting everyone else taking part. Everything we have to do to put on an event with lots of people to satisfy insurance, maritime event permits, etc.
– Private charter bus back from Mannum,
– Parking just outside of Mannum (very limited parking in town), shuttle from Mannum boat ramp back to your car,
– Full time Mechanic support
– Someone watching over the boats when they are left in Mildura for the day and night
– Event t shirt, event hat, event stubbie cooler,
– Event team flag & event stickers for your boat
– Support vehicle, spare tinny and spare motor. Last rally I had a spare motor that was needed, people ran out of fuel we had to go get them fuel (which was drive from the middle of nowhere where there is no phone service into Wentworth), people broke down i had get a spare tinny so they could get to the end in the borrowed tinny.
– Directions and trip planning. Assistance to plan the trip and make sure you have what you need. How long between fuel etc.
– Treasure hunt/map of things of the key things to stop and see along the way
– Best itinerary based on my multiple trips down the river doing this.
– Food specials – one cafe on the river we get to put on a brunch deal for us
– Suggested Best campsites to stop at based on my multiple trips down the river, including where you can and can’t free camp
– Organised fuel stops so much less walking for fuel. We organise trailers in some locations so you don’t have to carry the fuel as far to the servo
– We organise the pubs to let us camp nearby, one pubs open especially for us on the day they are normally close
– The brewery gets a food truck in especially for us, when they normally don’t have food available on the day we stop. We organise one pub which will do an historic tour for anyone that wants. They also can shuttle people from the camping site (about a 1k walk)
– Prizes for some fun awards we have
